
Intel has introduced a new lineup of laptops powered by its latest Core Ultra Series 3 processors, with devices coming from leading manufacturers such as Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and MSI.
Built using Intel’s advanced 18A process technology, these processors are designed specifically for thin-and-light laptops. The company emphasizes that the new systems can handle demanding tasks like gaming and artificial intelligence workloads directly on the device, while still maintaining strong battery performance.

Designed for Performance in Slim Devices
A major focus of the new processors is delivering enhanced graphics performance without relying on dedicated GPUs. Instead, the laptops use integrated Arc graphics, allowing for smoother gaming, content creation, and multitasking in slimmer designs.
Intel states that the top-tier Core Ultra Series 3 chips feature up to 16 CPU cores and 12 Xe-cores. Based on its internal testing, the company claims up to 60% faster CPU performance and as much as 77% better gaming performance compared to Lunar Lake processors operating at similar power levels.
Battery efficiency is another highlight. In one reference design, Intel reports up to 27.1 hours of Netflix streaming, although real-world results may vary depending on system configuration and usage patterns.
Advancing On-Device AI Capabilities
A key element of the announcement is the ability to run large language model (LLM) tasks locally, eliminating the need for constant cloud connectivity. This approach helps improve privacy, reduce reliance on internet access, and enhance response times.
The processors include a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) capable of up to 50 trillion operations per second, enabling tasks such as local chatbot interactions and other AI-driven applications.
Intel also claims up to 1.9 times higher performance in large language model workloads in one comparison test. This result is based on estimated first-token latency using a DeepSeek Llama-8B model running on an Intel Core Ultra X9 388H, compared with an NVIDIA Jetson Orin AGX 64GB under specific test conditions.
Competing in the Emerging AI PC Market
Intel’s latest launch comes amid growing competition among chipmakers and PC manufacturers to define the next generation of AI PCs. Running AI models locally is increasingly seen as a key advantage, particularly for users who prioritize privacy, reliability during network disruptions, and faster processing.
At the same time, manufacturers continue to balance performance with portability. Traditionally, high gaming performance required discrete graphics hardware, which added bulk and increased power consumption. By improving integrated graphics, Intel aims to close this gap and enable powerful yet lightweight devices.
George Chacko, General Manager for Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand at Intel, stated that the Core Ultra Series 3 processors represent a new class of ultra-portable laptops capable of handling demanding workloads such as AAA gaming and local AI processing while delivering all-day battery life.

According to Intel, laptops powered by Core Ultra Series 3 processors are now available through major electronics retailers, official online stores, and authorized resellers.
