A device becomes vintage when more than five years have passed since it was last sold as new by Apple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before that five years passes, you can always get repairs and replacement parts from Apple and authorized repair stores. Once a product is vintage though, you may or may not be able to get repairs or parts \u2013 it depends on stock levels and what the issue is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exact timings on vintage status can vary, and it&#8217;s worth noting that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.batterymap.co.nz\/detail-Apple-1738148-161-00042\">iPhone 6s Plus<\/a> with 32GB of storage is already categorized as obsolete (the next stage past vintage). Once Apple updates its lists though, it&#8217;s official as far as product status goes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"not-just-vintage-obsolete-3\">Not just vintage \u2013 obsolete<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.ouest-france.fr\/v1\/pictures\/MjAxNjA5M2ZlOGUxMWFjZTEyMzI4MWVkMDU1YzE4YjUxYWY1NjU?width=1260&amp;height=708&amp;focuspoint=50%2C25&amp;cropresize=1&amp;client_id=bpeditorial&amp;sign=0273a79c2abadf89b634ffc2285340fbbe54bcc6a509e3f881e195e1a3c6fdb9\" alt=\"L'Apple Watch Series 2 se met vraiment au sport\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>(Photo: Apple)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another update to Apple&#8217;s list is that the aluminum and stainless steel<a href=\"https:\/\/www.batterymap.co.nz\/detail-Apple-1745609-A1760\">Apple Watch 2<\/a>models are now obsolete. A gadget becomes obsolete when it&#8217;s been more than seven years since it was last sold as new by Apple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Past that point, you can&#8217;t get repairs from Apple or its authorized partners, and new parts can&#8217;t be ordered.
