Anker<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Less than a month after it recalled a power bank due to a risk of overheating that could lead to fire and burns, Anker has recalled five more models for the same reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ina noticeposted online this week, Anker said that following a series of safety checks on its power banks, it had identified a potential issue with lithium-ion battery cells from a single vendor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you have a recalled power bank, you can request a replacement or, alternatively, receive a gift card that\u2019s redeemable on the Anker website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which Anker power banks are affected?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Anker Power Bank (10K, 22.5W) \u2014 Model A1257<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Anker Power Bank (20,000mAh, 22.5W, Built-In USB-C Cable) \u2014 Model A1647<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Anker Zolo Power Bank (20K, 30W, Built-In USB-C and Lightning Cable) \u2014 Model A1681<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s important to note that not every unit of these models is impacted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So how can I tell ifmy<\/em>power bank is part of the recall?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 If your Anker power bank matches one of the model numbers above, you then need to enter its serial number to see if your particular unit is being recalled. You can do this by heading tothis page on Anker\u2019s websiteand hitting the Next button, which brings up a verification tool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Anker says to carefully review the letters and numbers in your serial number, such as \u201c1,\u201d \u201cL,\u201d \u201cl,\u201d \u201c2,\u201d and \u201cZ,\u201d as characters like \u201c0\u201d (zero) and \u201cO\u201d (letter O) are easily confused. It adds that affected serial numbers do not contain the letters \u201cO\u201d or \u201cI.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What if my power bank is part of the recall?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Stop using the device immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Submit therecall claim form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Do not dispose of the power bank until your recall eligibility has been confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How can I dispose of it?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Take great care in the disposal of the power bank. Your municipal household hazardous waste (HHW) collection center may accept it, so get in touch to ask.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can I continue using my power bank if it\u2019s part of the recall but seems to be working fine?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Anker says absolutely not, adding that continued use risks the power bank overheating, melting, or even catching fire. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
