{"id":1270,"date":"2025-04-24T01:34:25","date_gmt":"2025-04-24T01:34:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.batterymap.co.nz\/blog\/?p=1270"},"modified":"2025-04-24T01:35:51","modified_gmt":"2025-04-24T01:35:51","slug":"samsung-wallets-installment-payments-and-tap-to-send-features-show-up-in-the-app","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.batterymap.co.nz\/blog\/2025\/04\/24\/samsung-wallets-installment-payments-and-tap-to-send-features-show-up-in-the-app\/","title":{"rendered":"Samsung Wallet&#8217;s installment payments and tap-to-send features show up in the app"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Samsung is taking a page from Apple Wallet, adding layaway and tap-to-send options to its Wallet app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net\/uc9HaLqrS6RYZYUsj5aJqQ.jpg\" alt=\"Samsung Wallet\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"what-you-need-to-know-3\">What you need to know<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Samsung Wallet is testing out two exciting features: &#8216;Buy Now, Pay Later&#8217; and &#8216;Tap to Transfer,&#8217; with a potential U.S. launch on the horizon.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The &#8216;Instant Installment&#8217; feature lets you split payments for purchases, while &#8216;Tap to Transfer&#8217; works like Apple\u2019s Tap to Cash but with more flexibility for other digital wallets.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The BNPL feature, powered by Splitit, will let you use Visa or Mastercard without a credit check, though activation may require approval and could have extra fees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>A fresh beta build has given us a sneak peek atSamsung Wallet\u2019s &#8220;buy now, pay later&#8221;and tap-to-send options, and although these are not official yet, all signs point to these features rolling out soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the Galaxy S25 series made its debut in January, Samsung also snuck in some software updates that flew under the radar. Two standout features were \u201cInstant Installment\u201d for breaking up payments and a peer-to-peer money transfer option that Samsung calls \u201cTap to Transfer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Samsung\u2019s Tap to Transfer works a lot like Apple\u2019s Tap to Cash\u2014just bump phones to send money. However, while Apple keeps things locked in its ecosystem, Samsung is presumably playing nice with other digital wallets. That means you might not need aGalaxy phoneto receive cash, giving it a flexibility Apple doesn\u2019t offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&gt;&gt;&gt;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.batterymap.co.nz\/detail-Samsung-1747486-EB-BM135ABS\">EB-BM135ABS Battery for Samsung M13 4G<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"buy-now-stress-later-3\">Buy now, stress later<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, leaked screenshots ofSamsung Wallet, shared by@theordysm on X, show a \u201cBuy Now, Pay Later\u201d feature in the works, powered by Splitit (via9to5Google). It looks like it\u2019ll work with Visa and Mastercard, with no credit check needed. That said, activation still needs approval, and there might be some extra fees in the mix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both features are still in the testing phase, going through internal checks and limited beta runs. This option should be available for pretty much any transaction made through Samsung Wallet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&gt;&gt;&gt;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.batterymap.co.nz\/detail-Samsung-1747483-EB-BM156ABY\">EB-BM156ABY Battery for Samsung F15 5G<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"slice-your-bills-3\">Slice your bills<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Samsung\u2019s installment payments aren\u2019t about offering credit or loans. Think of it as turning your regular purchases into a pay-over-time plan, whether you\u2019re checking out online or in a physical store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The funds transfer feature lets users send money either through a digital network or by tapping an NFC-compatible device or payment card.
